a fun, emotional, punny look at guitars

#102 "Guitars"

I love my guitar. It's a beat up old Alvarez acoustic made in the 1970's that I bought used in 1985 for $200.00 at the old Ray Mullins music store on Broad St. in Pawtucket, RI. It has been through many good and bad relationships with me. It has been my date to dozens of friends' parties and weddings. It has helped people to cry at funerals. It has performed fearlessly on stage in front of thousands of people, while my knees banged nervously together. Someone even stole it once, but it came back to me. Without any doubt, it has life. It is a presence. A sentient being. People come and go, come and go, come and go, but my sweet gitbox has marked the time.
