a one panel comic strip with stick figures in silhouette on a prairie-like landscape, with two fleeing and one holding on to a large hand

#204 "Pointer Juice"

I drew this comic on a train somewhere in Germany—finger painting for the most part. After a lifetime of watching movies and documentaries about WWII, I finally stepped foot on German soil. Everywhere I went I projected ghosts into empty spaces. The Dachau Memorial stays with me. It was so cold and damp there. The experience sucked the complaining right out of me. I go forth with gratitude and gentleness for each moment of freedom, hoping not to forget.
