#49 "Illuminated Turtle-Rabbit"
According to Wikipedia, the Aztecs called armadillos "turtle-rabbits (āyōtōchtli)." Nine-banded armadillos mate
only during summer, and it can take up to 8 months for the birth of their young, as compared to the sexually prolific bunny rabbit which
has a gestation period of just thirty days. The Aztecs had a saying for couples who didn't have much sex: they
screw like turtle-bunnies or ahuilnema queh āyōtōchtli (translation put together from various sources). This sounds much better than they screw like armadillos.
